The Vanquish is hand-painted and polished, a process that takes 50 man-hours. Its hand-stitched interior requires 70 hours (and seven hides), and the “aero duct” rear spoiler is made by one guy at the Gaydon factory. It takes him two days. “We had to come up with a new painting technique – such is the intricacy of the shape,” says Aston spokesman Matthew Clarke. “The brief was to design something that looked impossible to make.”

Toronto based interior-design practice Cecconi Simone designed this gorgeous apartment in Toronto, the Yorkville Penthouse II.
The penthouse space – initially a raw shell save for the placement of the plumbing – presented an exceptional opportunity to create a living environment tailored perfectly to the clients’ needs.
The result is a modern, urban home, with a clean design aesthetic in a palette of warm finishes. The residence is organized into a semi-open plan, with fluid yet distinct public and private zones. Numerous occasions for displaying art are incorporated throughout.
From their website:
Cecconi Simone Inc. is a multi-disciplinary, interior-design practice based in Toronto, Canada, privately owned and operated by Elaine Cecconi and Anna Simone.
With the global trend toward increasing urbanization, Cecconi Simone has established itself as an industry leader in designing smart, small-space interior environments that respond to the market drivers of densification and price point.
Cecconi Simone’s wide-ranging work is central to its “whole design” philosophy; the belief that a cross-pollination of design experience leads to a deeper understanding of how people live their lives and the design needs that arise from those lifestyles.

Some time has passed since the last post on Mashido. But recently we moved to a new hosting provider and went on a fresh start with a new theme. Unfortunately a few things weren’t working right out of the box, but we are working on fixing the last glitches. We are also introducing a redesign, with a crisper look. And of course we are planning on more frequent posts! We are looking forward to see you back.
